The previously instructor-led training programs listed below are required by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (PADEP) for all employees who work with hazardous substances including: chemicals, lasers, human blood, blood products, fluids, human tissue or shipping dangerous goods.  Due to limits on University operations and the size of gatherings, these trainings have moved to online or remote.   Complete Penn Profiler  to determine which training courses you are required to take. See instructions below for accessing the online/remote options.

Introduction to Laboratory and Biological Safety- Part 2

Due to the announced limits on University operations and gatherings, scheduled instructor-led training is suspended.  Lab workers must complete Part 1 and Part 2 of training to work in lab. Part 2 of training, which was instructor-led, is now available on Knowledge Link.  This should be automatically assigned when you complete Part 1. Introduction to Physical Science Lab Safety Part 2 Due to the announced limits on University operations and gatherings, scheduled instructor-led training is suspended.  Lab workers must complete Part 1 and Part 2 of training to work in lab.  If you have completed Introduction to Physical Science Lab Safety Part 1 online, you can now self-assign "Introduction to Laboratory and Biological Safety Part 2- EHRS Online" to receive credit for Part 2.  Type the course title in "Find Learning" on the Knowledge Link page to assign course. Irradiator Security Training

The second Wednesday of each month.

Shipping Training Instructor led classes have resumed for all first-time shippers or any returning shippers opting for in-person class. Online shipping training is still available in Knowledge Link for returning shippers.  Type the course title Shipping of Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods for Laboratory Staff-EHRS online in "Find Learning" on the Knowledge Link page to assign course.
